Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur

Making the rail network a lever for the region's attractiveness

2025 promises to be full of challenges: around fifty major projects to be carried out, the acceleration of the digital transformation with, in particular, the Marseille-Ventimiglia high performance programme, the continuation of the New Provence Côte d'Azur Line project, etc. Objectives: to offer our customers an efficient network, a better quality of service and to guarantee the safety of services.

Serving customers and the regions

By its very nature, our business is firmly rooted in the areas crossed by the rail network. In Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, as throughout France, we work on a daily basis with many local players to maintain, modernise, develop and operate the regional network.

The network in the region

Our network is evolving

In Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, SNCF Réseau has to respond to ever-increasing mobility challenges. Against a backdrop of growing road congestion around its major conurbations and an estimated 10% increase in the number of journeys in the coming years, the aim of the major New Provence Côte d'Azur Line and Marseille-Ventimiglia High Performance projects is to provide a priority response to the need to improve everyday journeys.

At the same time, works to modernise the existing network are continuing apace.

Our initiatives to serve the region

Through its activities, SNCF Réseau makes a significant contribution to revitalising the region. Developing the network in close collaboration with our customers, improving regularity of service, developing rail freight, reducing our environmental footprint... these are the major challenges that guide our day-to-day actions.
