Our business plan combines with a plan for society: the train is THE solution to the need for the French to reconnect with the regions, while respecting the environment.
Our business plan
Launched in 2020, our business plan, in line with that of the SNCF Group, sets out our ten-year trajectory. It commits us to going even further to serve our customers and the regions. It also echoes the SNCF Group's ambition to double the modal share of freight and significantly increase the share of rail passengers by 2030.
A challenging economic and environmental context
Growing demand for mobility, ecological transition: the world is facing major, structuring challenges. As a key player in sustainable mobility, SNCF Réseau must evolve, and with it the national rail network, in order to double the modal share of rail.
In addition, the need to return to financial equilibrium by 2024, the opening up of the passenger market to competition and the development of Europe’s railways are also leading us to undertake a vast transformation.

On course for 2030
Tous SNCF Ambition Réseau is the name of our business plan! It sets out our objectives, commitments and vision for 2030, with strong results expected from 2026. The challenge? To respond effectively to the economic, social and environmental challenges we face. Its strategic orientations combine long-term vision with new priorities.
Priority guidelines
To respond to environmental, societal and technological changes, we are relying on our business plan Tous SNCF Ambition Réseau, by concentrating our efforts on four priority orientations.
Constantly improving support for our customers and the regions
The satisfaction of our customers and the regions guides each of our actions. This commitment, rooted in our public service culture, takes on its full meaning at a time when the passenger market is being opened up to competition. Our ambition is to increase the share of rail transport in the mobility of passengers and goods by meeting the needs of all our customers: hauliers, industrial companies, mobility organising authorities, etc.
Our plan for customers and the regions
Playing a leading role in the rail industry
The challenges of sustainable mobility must be met collectively. We need to work together with all the players in the rail industry to strengthen the resilience and capacity of the national rail network. Together, we are working to improve the quality of our production and services.
Our plan for the rail industry
Developing our economic and industrial performance
At a time when we are defining the major investments of the future, our economic and industrial performance is crucial. This is the key to our credibility. We owe it to the State, to our stakeholders and to the French people. Our ambition is to achieve and maintain economic equilibrium from 2024 to ensure our long-term viability and free up the financial leeway to guarantee our investments.
Our economic and industrial plan
Accelerating the ecological transition
Trains are the most environmentally-friendly form of mass transport. However, our activities, like those of any industrial player, have an impact on the environment. We are taking action to reduce our polluting emissions, decarbonise our worksites and protect biodiversity. Our ambition is to use our environmental and social responsibility approach as an additional lever of legitimacy and confidence vis-à-vis our customers and the regions.
Our plan for the environment in the regions
