Paving the way for sustainable mobility

Tomorrow's mobility is developed in today's world

Behind each of our trains and journeys, day and night, the SNCF Réseau teams are tracing the lines of our daily lives and paving the way for sustainable mobility!

The challenges facing the French rail network

France's rail network has tremendous potential, and is the second largest in Europe. Working with the regions and our industrial partners, we are building the network of the future: ever safer, more resilient and more efficient, to meet the growing need for mobility.

All committed to satisfying our customers

Our customers are railway companies that transport passengers and goods, shippers and manufacturers, and transport organising authorities. They are all project people. Our role is to support them at every stage, from design to the continuous improvement of their mobility offering.

At the heart of our actions

To promote the development of rail transport, we pursue our missions based on stringent requirements.

A global, integrated safety culture

Safety is a prerequisite for everything we do. Each of us at our own level - manager, employee, partner - has a role to play and a responsibility to assume. Every day, we all play a part in the continuous improvement of rail operating safety, the prevention of natural and technological risks, the safety of goods and people, health and safety at work, and cyber security. With one constant objective: to reduce the number of accidents to zero.

Innovation on all fronts

We are innovating to maintain and develop a more efficient and robust rail network, capable of handling ever more services in complete safety. Our teams and innovation partners are designing, testing and deploying the tools, processes and organisations that will make it possible to significantly increase the modal share of rail, a low-carbon mode of transport and a key lever for sustainable mobility.

Accessibility on the move

40% of passengers are affected by reduced mobility permanently or temporarily. Accessibility is a legitimate public demand. It's the law. It’s a European requirement for passengers' rights. Above all, it is an ambition that SNCF Réseau is pursuing with conviction for all rail system stakeholders: developing trains for everyone!

A responsible and sustainable strategy

At the service of its customers, the regions, people and the environment, SNCF Réseau has over the years developed a vision of rail transport that is open to all and geared towards a sustainable future. Its strategy is based on six major commitments, put into practice throughout France.
