Pursuant to the provisions of Directive 2012/34/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 November 2012 establishing a single European railway area and the Decree No. 2003-194 of 7 March 2003 on charges for the use of the national rail network, the National Rail Network Statement (NS) sets all practical, technical, administrative and tariff terms and conditions related to the use of to French rail network.

It introduces useful contacts (chapter 1), details access conditions (chapter 2), describes the infrastructure (chapter 3), explains the process of capacity allocation (chapter 4), presents provided services (chapter 5) and their charging (chapter 6) and finally those relative to service facilities (chapter 7).
